Social Media Intern

An internship at TechSoup is not just a learning experience; it is an opportunity to make a challenging and meaningful contribution. You will get to work on real world inspiring projects that drive goals and objectives.

The Social Media Intern will learn how to create video, photos and blogs that can be optimized for social media and what processes need to be followed. The intern will learn what’s involved in engaging with organizations and individuals through social media in a professional, fun, innovative manner.

This is a paid position.

Duties and Responsibilities

During this internship, you will:

  • Contribute to organization and management of social media listening tools.
  • Work with team to organize assets from past Storymakers program and use to create impact stories
  • Learn from and support social media manager to increase engagement on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube
  • Work with team on creation of new storytelling content



  • Social media and non-profit knowledge preferred.


  • Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Creative Cloud preferred
  • Diplomacy and teamwork. 
  • Social media savvy                                    


  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Interact in a professional manner with a wide variety of people.
  • Organized and creative


Any combination of education and experience providing the skill and knowledge for successful participation and learning in the internship would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree or higher or coursework in one or more of the following: film/video production, animation, graphic design, photography, multimedia, or visual arts.
  • Candidate should be a natural storyteller and are passionate about capturing experiences through digital media.
  • Able to submit a link to your portfolio/reel.
